In the Dominican Republic, Engage partners with El Circulo Church to serve in and around Santo Domingo. There will be a unique mix of urban and rural ministry, with potential ministry opportunities to include: evangelism in public schools, community care through ministries like a home for abandoned kids, prayer with a modern-day leper community, pregnancy center and other local outreach. We'll also spend time in the mountains of Cotui teaching Bible lessons at a rural elementary school and encouraging the local church there.
Who are we partnering with? Almost two decades ago a group of young people started meeting together to learn about the Gospel. A local pastor took this group under his wing to teach them and walk with them in their faith and in a short time this group grew and grew. They eventually decided to start a church, now known as El Circulo. While there are many more generations other than just a youth group attending the church now, its DNA continues to be upbeat and youthful.
What will we be doing? Outreach alongside mission-focused church & Care for the marginalized; Kids Bible lessons in rural elementary school; Community outreach & ministry (home for abandoned kids, modern day leper community, pregnancy center, & other church-connected ministries); Evangelism in public schools
