Spiritual Battle in Christ
Do you have any articles of clothing that used to belong to a parent or family member? What significance does wearing their clothing have for you?
Read Ephesians 6:10-24
What does it look like to rely on God’s power to help us stand strong in our faith?
In verse 12, Paul says our battle is not a physical one, but a spiritual one. How should that influence the way we view the struggles we face?
Paul is referencing Isaiah 59:17 in this passage:
“He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on
his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal
as in a cloak.”
Our Heavenly Father does not expect us to make our own armor but gives us His very own to wear for protection. How does having God’s armor give us comfort
and strength?
What is a current battle or struggle that you need strength to endure? Practically, how could each piece of God’s armor protect you during this struggle? Close your time praying for the needs in your group.
